Qutub Minar
The symbol of the power of the Mughals in India. A 7m high iron pillar stands in the courtyard of the mosque. it' is said that if you can encircle it with your hands whilst standing with your back to it, your wish will be fulfilled; however, the pillar is now protected by a hurdle.
Humayun's Tomb
It was built in the mid-16th century by the wife of the second Mughal emperor; this is the first important example of Mughal architecture in India. It's also one of the most beautiful buildings in the city and is a introduction to the superb Mughal Architecture. Adding to the beauty are the proper gardens lending a quietness of silence to the structure.
Jama Masjid
It was built in 1644; the great mosque of Delhi is the largest in India and was the last in the series of architectural indulgences of Shah Jahan, the Mughul emperor who also built the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort. It is highly decorative mosque with three great gateways, four towers and two 40m high minarets constructed of strips of red sandstone and white marble.
Chandini Chowk
The living legacy of Delhi is Shahjahanabad. Created by Shahjahan, the builder of Taj Mahal, this city, with the Red Fort as the focal point and Jama Masjid as the praying center, has a charming market planned to shine under the light of the moon and thus is called Chandini Chowk. Even today it remains Asia's largest wholesale market. Crafts, once patronized by the Mughals continue to increase in the small lanes of the city known as Shahjahanabad. Streets of ballimaran and dariba kalan are very famous for its old cultural look and handicraft market. Tradition and modernity meet here and if you see a man pulling a rickshaw or feeding pigeons, you will see just as many talking over the cello or assembling a computer! An experience of timelessness awaits you at Chandini Chowk.
Connaught Place
Divergent Chandini Chowk is Connaught Place, the hub of Delhi where can find whatever you want to shop on the other hand you'll find most of the airline offices, travel agents and banks. The imposing facade encapsulates the spirit of British sovereignty in marble, stone and architecture.
